Community groups, charities and voluntary organisations across South Cheshire are being encouraged to apply for grants of up to £2,000 through the SWAP Summer Support Fund.
The funding programme, backed by the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner, turns criminal money into positive action by supporting projects and activities taking place during the summer months that make a positive difference in local communities.
Organisers are particularly keen to hear from groups planning activities that support children and young people, improve wellbeing, bring communities together, or help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour through positive engagement.
The fund could help support a wide range of local initiatives, including holiday clubs, youth activities, community events, wellbeing projects, sports sessions, creative workshops and other schemes aimed at creating opportunities for local residents.
For rural communities across South Cheshire, the funding presents an opportunity to launch new projects, expand existing activities or bring people together during the school summer holidays.
Applications opened on 19 May and will close at 5pm on Wednesday 17 June. Funding decisions are expected to be communicated from the week commencing 29 June.
Groups interested in applying are encouraged to check the eligibility criteria before submitting an application. The Commissioner’s office also recommends discussing project ideas in advance where possible to ensure they meet the fund's objectives.
Anyone interested in applying can find further information and an online application form via the SWAP Summer Support Fund website.
