Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner Dan Price has relaunched the SWAP Fund, making £50,000 available for local initiatives using money seized from criminals under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).

The scheme aims to reinvest money recovered from criminal activity into projects that help prevent crime, tackle anti-social behaviour and create positive change in communities.

Applications are open to community groups, charities, not-for-profit organisations, parish councils, social enterprises and state schools delivering activities outside the curriculum.

Projects must demonstrate how they will contribute to crime reduction, community safety, prevention or other policing-related outcomes.

Funding is available for initiatives covering one or more of four key areas:

  • Supporting children and young people, including activities that encourage positive behaviour and engagement.

  • Promoting wellbeing through community-based initiatives.

  • Reducing isolation and promoting inclusion, helping people feel more connected to their communities.

  • Early intervention and prevention, addressing issues before they develop into more serious problems.

The fund could support a range of community-led activities, from youth clubs and mentoring programmes to initiatives designed to strengthen neighbourhood relationships and prevent anti-social behaviour.

Applications close at 9am on Monday 30 November 2026, with applicants due to be notified of the outcome no later than Thursday 17 December 2026.

Groups interested in applying can find further information about the scheme and submit an application online.
