Crews from Nantwich and Crewe attended the incident on Checkley Lane at 5.07pm on 29 July.
Firefighters worked closely with the farmer to bring the blaze under control, using on-site agricultural machinery to create fire breaks and turn over the affected ground to prevent the fire from spreading.
A hose reel jet was then used to extinguish the remaining flames and damp down hot spots.
The incident comes during a period of warm, dry weather when harvested fields can become particularly susceptible to fire. Prompt action by firefighters and the farmer helped contain the blaze before it could spread further across the field.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire has not been disclosed.
