Firefighters were called to tackle a field fire involving straw near the Shavington Bypass, Nantwich, on Tuesday evening.

Two fire engines from Crewe attended the incident at 6.08pm on 7 July. Crews found straw burning in a field and worked to prevent the fire from spreading.

Firefighters used two beaters and two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames before damping down the surrounding area to eliminate any remaining hotspots.

The incident was brought under control without further escalation. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire has not been disclosed.
