A van caught fire on Woore Road in Buerton on Tuesday morning, prompting an emergency response from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Firefighters from Audlem were called to the incident at 8.18am on 21 July 2026, where they found the vehicle well alight.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the blaze before carrying out checks with a thermal imaging camera to identify any remaining hotspots. The affected areas were then dampened down to prevent the fire from reigniting.

Police officers also attended the scene to manage traffic while firefighters dealt with the incident.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed.

No injuries have been reported.
