A local kettlebell gym is celebrating after its members delivered a stunning performance at the IUKL European Championships in York from 14-17 May 2026, with athletes scooping multiple medals across the competition, and England winning the prestigious European Games outright.

Members of Wolfpack Kettlebell Club in Walgherton competed as part of the England Kettlebell Association (EKA) team, with the club's lifters collectively claiming a haul of golds, silvers and bronzes.
The standout honour of the competition, however, came in the form of the European Games trophy. England took first place in the 30-minute marathon lifts event, and the president of the European Kettlebell Association (EKA) awarded the trophy directly to Wolfpack in recognition of the club's dominance throughout the competition.
It is a remarkable achievement for the gym, which was featured in The Ruralist News earlier this year when two of its lifters, Amy Crump and Laura Grant, along with other team members, first qualified for the England squad.

The celebrations may be short-lived, however as the team is already preparing for their next challenge. The Wolfpack squad is set to fly to the United States on Thursday 21 May to compete in The International Kettlebell Marathon Federation World Championships hosted by the United States for the first time on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at The Oncenter in Syracuse, N.Y.
Full individual scores from the European Championships are yet to be published by the IUKL at the time of writing this article.
