A man has died following an emergency services response to a welfare concern in Audlem this afternoon.

Police, firefighters and ambulance crews were called to an address in the Emberton Place area of the village at around 2.11pm on Tuesday 14 July.

Multiple emergency service vehicles attended the scene, where police cordoned off part of the residential close while officers carried out enquiries, with the crime scene investigation unit arriving at 3:31pm.

In a statement, Cheshire Police said:

"At around 2.11pm today, Tuesday 14 July, police were called to concerns for welfare at an address in the Emberton Place area of Audlem.

"Officers and colleagues from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service attended and, sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained, and a number of enquiries are ongoing.

"However, officers are keen to reassure residents that there is no risk to the wider community."

Police enquiries continue.
